{Rant}

23rd April 2013

10:38am

I have come to the conclusion on this very sleepy, quiet, Tuesday night of mine, that my life sucks sometimes. I know that if my mother was reading this right now, she’d be cussing and going “You have a blessed life, don’t say it sucks because you’re blessed! Think of the poor starving kids in Africa!”

And whilst my heart does go out to those gorgeous little dark kids over there in Africa, I’m not thinking that worldly right now. Right now, I’m mulling over in my little head my own problems, which mentally could make up a whole list, but as I go to write them down now I’d struggle to even make two dot points.

So instead, I’m not gunna go all dot-point-list fancy, I’m going to go straight out and say the two main things that suck in my life at this present moment in time. First, Karate. It’s the only community based activity/sport I do apart from school of course. Don’t get me wrong, I used to enjoy karate. But lately I’ve been dreading it, it almost feeling like a chore. It doesn’t help that whilst I am skilfully juggling homework, school, home life, internet life, friends, family and karate that my little brother practises karate in his spare time (of which he has a lot) so he is the clear standout standing beside me. I even think that the karate teacher is beginning to sense my not-wanting-to-be-there-ness but hasn’t commented. To me in person, who knows what he’s said but I’m not going to go into that. I’m just gunna say that I have stopped enjoying the art of karate, and whilst everyone around me are moving up belts, enjoying themselves, the part of the karate classes that I like is the socialising which there isn’t a lot of now we train with the adults. But, my mum says the only way I can get out of it is by changing to some other community based activity/sport instead of karate. But as a non-sporty person in a small town, finding something community based activity NOT relating to sport is difficult. The main options are netball and basketball, with some cricket, dance and tennis options in there too. But none of them appeal to me, but believe me, I’ve tried.

In my middle years of primary school, I tried (aka: was forced) by my parents to give tennis, basketball and netball good go’s. So I stuck with each sport for a while until I realised sport is NOT my thing.

But anyway, back to my rant. There is basically nothing else to do in this town apart from Scouts or Girl Guides, and I dunno ‘bout you, but learning how to pitch tents or sell cookies doesn’t overly appeal to me. My closest girlfriend does Guides, but she has told me it’s full of little girls and she is the only senior there. Don’t get me wrong, I love my friend, but I feel if I do Guides we’d pretty much be doing literally everything together, as she is in my year level at school, in pretty much all my classes and we always hang out at lunchtime, and she does Karate too. So I feel if I do Guides we’d get sick of each other too much.

But Mum didn’t budge when I told her I didn’t want to do anything else- she said choose something else or stick with Karate. So it seems I have to stick with karate, which I dislike (hate is a very strong word) extremely.  This sucks. I mean, why do something you don’t enjoy? I’ve been doing karate for about 3-4 years now and the main reason mum made me join was for basic self-defence, y’know. Prior to lately she has said I have to do it till I get my black belt, but she has become more lenient on that saying I don’t have to.

But, ugh. Enough about my rant about karate, I’m just looking back over what I’ve written and its mighty long.

My 2nd suckish thing in life right now: Maths. I recently got back my interim reports and for effort in maths I got a satisfactory. My parents said they were very ‘disappointed’ in me. Now, before I go any further, I’ve gotta say this. I HATE MATHS. Heaps. Always have. I had some sort of IQ test or somewhat when I was only a little kid (not even in kinder) and I got reasonably high results in everything but maths, so I guess I was born this way. Born without the maths vein in my brain which allows maths nerds (*cough* my brother *cough*) to figure out maths equations in a matter of seconds. That is pretty much the opposite of moi. Sometimes, being paranoid in tests, I use the calculator to type in 6+7. Yeah, that pretty much explains it all.

So Mum says she understands that I hate maths and although she didn’t use these words, she pretty much also said that I suck at it too. But she said she wanted me to give some effort. Which I have been doing, mind you. It’s just...maths sucks. It doesn’t interest me, and I hate numbers. Whilst I try my hardest to focus, I almost feel like I don’t belong in the maths world. Sit me in a library, in front of a typewriter or daydreaming and I’m blissful, happy in a land of clouds and unicorns. Sit me in a maths class, in front of a maths problem or any maths in general, and I’m in hell.

I know I should try harder since it’s my weakest point and all, and I’m going to TRY to focus more now after I’ve gotten my report, but I can’t guarantee anything. I’ve got parent teacher interviews on Monday and my parents are both quite eager to see my maths teacher (only coz of my only-just-passed mark in effort) which is going to be........interesting.

Anyway, enough of my rant. I just realised how negative this has all been so far!! I don’t mean it to be, but it just happens!! But to be honest with you, they are the two main bad things in my life at the mo’, the rest is pretty good!

Wednesday is my last day of school for the week, because of ANZAC (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps) day on Thursday and then a teacher curriculum day on Friday (both days I get off) so I’ve got a majorly WICKED 4 DAY WEEKEND coming up which is awesome. But tomorrow, (which is Wednesday at the time of writing this) has maths AND karate. Ugh.

Ok EJ, take a de-ep breath... and whilst before you said you don’t like lists, you’re gunna write one right now, of positive things in my life.

·         The fact I’ve got a four day weekend coming up! PARTAY TIME!

·         My mum. Just then. She came in and thanked me for helping her pack backpacks tonight (that’s another story which I won’t go into) but it made me feel loved and appreciated and it took her mind off my satisfactory maths mark.

·         My Lost Boys fan fic. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m kind of in love with The Lost Boys at the moment. Y’know, the 80s movie about vampires and that has Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Jami Gertz and Dianne Wiest in it? It’s amazing. And today I found a bunch of fan fictions on the internet that I’m gunna read on my day off tomorrow :D

·         Poly. It’s as simple as that. c’:

·         My good-ish marks for the rest of my report.

Uhm I’ve lost inspiration now. Awkward.

And it’s now 11:08pm so I better get to sleep, coz I’ve got my LAST DAY OF THE WEEK TOMORROW! YAY :D

WITH KARATE AND MATHS. NO D:

BUT WILL I GET THROUGH IT? YES!

HAVE I ABANDONED THIS BLOG FOR WAY TOO LONG? YES! D:

AM I SORRY? YES! D:

HAVE I WRITTEN ABOUT MY AWESOMESAUCE HOLIDAY TO JAPAN YET? NO! D:

WILL I SOON? YES! :D

AM I GOING TO STOP DOING THIS? YES! :D

GOODNIGHT EVERYBODY <3

All my love,

EJ

THE TALE OF EJ'S VERY INTERESTING BUT SOMETIMES QUITE DULL BUT OTHERWISE FULL OF MAGIC AND HOMEWORK LIFE
episode 135678432.

Helloooooooo dere :-)
how is you, dear reader? In case your wondering the above ^^^^^ little introduction piece is just me being silly. I thought itd be nice to start off a post a little different!!
Anyway, in case your have been wondering, no I havent disappeared off the face of the earth, I am still very much alive. But I have had the flu for a few weeks and I know I know that is no excuse for not blogging but let me explain myself. I just havent had very much to blog about, but now I have decided to get up off my butt and let all you people know what has been happening!

Well, as from tomorrow (Monday) it is my last week of school for term 1! Yay :DDD ! These holidays are going to be quite significant ones becauseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ~drumroll please~

...........................................................................................................IM GOIN TO JAPAN!
for about two weeks, which are my holidays so pretty much as soon as we get back ill have about a days rest then BOOM back to school but im not thinkin that far head yet. Im just going to get through this week first.
Which is going to be full of= lots of homework and exams, majority of my teachers are trying to cram as much as they can into us before holidays and getting us to finish off as much work as possible and do as many exams as they can throw at us for our reports. In one word that is EWWW because I absolutely hate homework >:(
but im thinking of the positives (well, trying to anyway) so ill stop talking about school because-e its still Sunday and Ive got the rest of this day to publish this post, wash my hair and maybe finish some last minute homework things for this week if Im lucky.

Ok, now to the title of this post. I have used a Sherlock Holmes quote becausee I have spent my Sunday morning watching the 2nd Sherlock Holmes movie called Sherlock Holmes a Game of Shadows. This is a (so far) two movie series featuring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law which I loveee. I just looked it up and saw a third one is going to be released but no dates or anything like that have been confirmed yet! Bummer!

But while we're on the topic of movies, Im just gonna put it out there that there are some movies I wanna see that are out at the moment but I cant because Im saving as much cashola as I can for Japan, you see. I would like to see Oz the Great + Powerful and Beautiful Creatures mainly, but I guess Ill have to wait till they come out on DVD....booo.....
but the rest of this year is going to be releasing many movies I am keen to see: Catching Fire, Iron Man 3 (or is it 4? I really dont know), the 2nd Thor movie, and im sure theres more but i cant remember any more. But movies are really my thaaang, if you know what I mean.

And y'know whats weird? Even though I am a proud 90s child (part of the dying race) I have really begun to like a big fad from the 80s. What is it, you may ask? The Lost Boys. Chances are your parents have probably seen it in their teenage-hood. Ive gotta say I luuuuurve it!! Its quite old school but its appeal has really caught on to me. Trouble is, nobody else in my age group like it. I feel almost as if I should have been an 80s teenager for the period of time The Lost Boys were a big thing. Because now its kind of depressing, only one of my friends has seen it and likes it and the rest are like "huh? the lost boys? ohh yeahh, isnt that that old vampire movie? i havent seen it.."
if you havent seen it i reccomend you do give it a go. the only reason I did was.............well, let me go into the story.

Mum has shared with me some of her favourite/classic/from her era movies such as The Sound of Music, Little Women, Top Gun, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Waynes World, Dirty Dancing, etc. But Dad hasnt shared very much with me, and I have quite a long list of movies he liked as a teen id like to watch, and he started it off with The Lost Boys. and what can I say, the rest is history!!

anyway, its nearly three o'clock and I needa go wash my hairrr for the LAST WEEK OF TERM (needa keep reminding myself bout that) so I better gooo. Hope you enjoyed this little update into my life, and ill be sure to post some photos from Japan in an upcoming post!!

till next time,

EJ

Nothing to blog about

Im being serious when saying this---I have nothing to blog about. Which is why I am blogging about not having anything to blog about. Which is kind of a mouthful I know but its true. Nothing amazing or dramatic has happened in my life recently, well, nothing big enough to blog about. I have spent most of today home alone, watching Saturday morning television, cleaning (i didnt have a say in this) and eating, shh. And also cuddling with my cat. My week has consisted of school, school, school. Funny that.

Ok, since I can already foresee if I continue on this post like I have been its going to be incredibly boring, I'm going to change things up a bit. Something to make this post more interesting. Mmkays, here I go.

Sun, Sweat and Steiners

Ill take you back to the moment..

and tell you everything i was seeing, hearing and feeling..

the atmosphere..

the people..

the music..

THE SWIMMING SPORTS

it was 9:20 on this Wednesday morning, and the sleepy town I live in (not gonna say the name just in case!!) was only just waking up. Sure there was the occasional car driving by, either going to work or coming back from school pickup, but overall there wasnt much action happening. Until you looked across the street.
A huge crowd of either green, blue, red or yellow dressed teenagers were casually strolling down the path, some with sleepy eyes but others already bright eyed and talking nonstop. Giant hats, zinc cream and oversized sunglasses in every colour were a norm throughout the seemingly endless crowd. But they all had one clear destination: the local pool.

EJ's feet were beginning to hurt slightly as she trudges along the footpath next to her best friend Jo. They barely had any breathing space, the footpath was so jam packed with students they could hear the conversations of people from both in front and behind them. But the girls stayed quiet until they reached the pool, as they were some of the still half asleep people.

as they file into the pool gates, the four areas for the houses are already ready. Four large banners are hung behind each area, boasting the house names: BADER, CHURCHILL, HILLARY, LANDY. EJ and Jo go and find a spot in the shade in the Bader area, both wearing green shirts, hats and zinc. For the first half hour of the day most people just stand around waiting for the events to start, and the atmosphere is kind of awkward.

But then BOOM. The DJ's begin to blast some tunes and all of sudden, somehow the atmosphere is suddenly a helluva lot more cool, comfortable and full of SWAG. Kids start to sit down and the first event starts. EJ and Jo get comfortable on their towels, getting ready for a day full of people watching. Because, FYI, both the girls hate sport of any kind and they much prefer people watching.

But before long, the sun started to seep through and the closeness of everybody all bunched up together resulted in lots of sweat. EJ + Jo handled it for a short period of time before heading off in search of some shade. Whilst gone, EJ went into the bathroom and applied some bright green zinc cream on her lips. This would get weird looks anywhere else, but as she walked out afterwards people didnt even have a second glance at her lips it was considered normal to go all out in your house colours.

As the girls settled back down onto their towels and (thank god) the shade sales above their heads began to work, they settled into people watching. The swimming sports should have another name THE PERVE DAY. Girls are walking around in skimpy little bikinis and guys are strutting around showing off their chests. But not that its a bad thing, EJ certainly didnt mind a few of the guys. Did somebody say eye candy? EJ's aviator sunglasses also made it easy to perve without people realising she was, which was a huge bonus.

But before you start to think what a creep EJ is... let me tell you this first. everybody was pretty much the same. Seriously, some of the guys eyes nearly popped out of their heads. But, sadly, there was a downside to all this perving that was happening between the teens. Some of the girls, who obviously had no dignity or just wanted to show off, were showing all too much clevage for their own good. Although EJ has pretty high self confidence, she wouldnt go strutting around in an itsy bitsy bikini in front of her school. Instead, she wore a pair of board shorts and a green singlet and felt happy in it.

So whilst EJ isnt a big sporting person of any sort, she enjoyed watching and taking numerous photos and video footage. Sadly, Jo refused to be in any selfies which made EJ sad, but instead she used that extra space on her IPod camera to take sneaky photos of some guys abs. Hehe super ninja coming through!!

Now, onto a cooler topic. THE MUSIC. The music was goddamn amazing! Whilst all of it wasnt to EJ's taste, it just added so much character to the day. It had a mixture of all the latest and greatest hits, a LOT of remixes and some Michael Jackson (one of the DJs is a massive MJ fan). But overall it was really good!

One of the many things EJ loves about her best friend Jo is that they both are professionals at people watching. The people watching was probably EJ's favourite part of the entire day. People are so....interesting to watch, watch how they interact. But when people had boring moments so peopel watching wasnt interesting, EJ + Jo spent their time counting the number of boxer brands they could see. So listen, all the guys were wearing boardies and ALL of them (well, 97% anyway) made sure the strip of their boxers that shows the brand was showing. Overall, BONDS was the most worn brand, whilst BEVERLY HILLS POLO CLUB only had one guy wearing them. Ive never heard of that brand either dont worry.

EJ + Jo were both signed up for events, but neither of them did any. The reason?? Well neither of us wanted to and we...have our ways.
#1: Our super ninja swag. If you cant see the people the people cant see you
#2: We had replacements.

Most of the day was spent sitting, people watching, eating, and having to stand up numerous times to stretch for sitting down on the ground all day is sore on your butt. But eventually the day was up. The score updates they gave us every so often always said Bader was a clear winner and that was ultimately the result. Bader came first flogging all the others, we are ultimate at swimming. So now, i have just finished writing this, back at school, still all decked out in my green gear, and am about to go to my karate class to finish off the day before Glee is on TV tonight. Better go!

catch ya later readers, sorry for the long post!!

all my love

Friday lunchtimes

Right now, it is 12:51pm on Thursday, 15th February.  I am sitting out the front of my schools library, on my laptop, waiting for it to open and watching my rapidly deterirating battery life and cursing because ive only got 53% left. Ive got an apple sitting on my lap, waiting to be eaten for my lunch. But of course I cant type AND eat, unless I have 3 arms. Which I dont. So my belly will just have to wait while I write this long awaited post for you people in the blogosphere. Reason why its long awaited? Well, simply coz I havent written a new post in what seems like forever, but in reality has only been about 2 weeks, which is a lot for me. I am usually a pretty good blogger, posting every few days or so. But lately ive been pretty slack, and a few reasons contribute to this.

One, because ive had numerous bans off the internet lately (dont ask)
Two, because i havent had the inspriation to blog. trust me, i have tried. i have about 3 drafts which were supposed to be this post.
Three, because.................umm, I dont have a third reason. :P

ok so right now I am at school. No shit its Friday lunchtime, Im telling myself. There is general chatter all around, but im blocking it out. It is just a quiet hum in the back of my head, I recognize the words but am not focusing on them enough to make it make any sense in my head. i just had a double of math, and it was like torture for my brain. the internet wasnt working well, which was frustrating. And the fact that I was half asleep in boredom didnt help make it any better.

but anyway, its lunchtime. ive only got two more classes left of the day before its the WEEKEND and FREEDOM awaits me!! My last two classes are Science and Music. Not the worst but definitely not the best.

in other news, yesterday we got a little shower. I mean rain, btw. It was like heaven!! Even though it only lasted for about five minutes, ten at the most, it was beautiful. Its been like a drought around here for the past month or so, so just a few drops was like heaven. Simply amazing. And I didnt even have to do a rain dance for it! score!

woah. y'know, i was just in my blog little world, and i didnt even notice the bunch of people sitting around me have all left. oh. wow. i didnt even notice. thats what i love about things like blogging, reading and writing. They transport you to another world. Or perhaps just make you oblivious to the world happening around you. Right now, the world around me is absolute chaous. But just a typical school lunchtime, I suppose.

FYI, i dont sit alone every lunchtime either. no, i am not a loner or a social outcast. im not popular, but im accepted. but the reason im alone today is because all of my friends are on an excursion and im not in their class. so i have been alone all day pretty much, which i thought would be pretty depressing. but surprisingly, i have enjoyed myself quite a bit. just being alone, with my own thoughts, just doing my own thing. it has been pretty good. i know, i cant believe it either. alone time must be healthy. i mean, i never said it wasnt, but...you know what i mean.

rightio reader, i better go. im not spending my whole lunchtime doing a post, as much as id like to. that short burst of inspiration i had before is now gone, and i am longing to eat that apple. better go eat it now, i s'pose.

love and apples,

EJ

schools back and it was NOT how I expected

heheheheeeeeeeeeee I am feeling evil. Because my brother and I are cooking dinner right, and now the fish and chips are in the oven and the salad done and we both wanted to go on the internet but of course both of us couldnt use the computer at once. so Rory was like "lets flip a coin!" and I was all "no no no you'll rig it somehow!" and was totally against the idea coz I always seem to have bad luck when it comes to things like flipping a coin and rock, paper scissors. But eventually we did and guess what? I chose tails and it landed on tails so I was all "BAM! in your faceeee!"

hahahhh sorry bout that. anyway, about the title. so it is now the weekend after my first 2 days at school for 2013. I am now just one year off being in senior school so that is pretty exciting. I am kind of like, the senior of the juniors, if you know what I mean ;)
but anyway. so surprisingly my classes were alright. I actually had a pretty good 2 days back. but I am SO GLAD the weeks over because I am not used to school very much yet (I have just come out of holidays) so even though it was just for 2 days going back to school was a big shock for me. getting up earlier than 10 was a struggle!!
favourite subject so far?? probably drama. it is a bit upfront, loud and confronting, not what I am like at all. Pretty much my polar opposites. But I actually enjoyed it. Maybe it was just the thrill of having a subject which doesnt include books, sitting for a whole hour and just solid work work WORK. it was also hilarious to see everybody doing ridiculous drama things. also there are a bunch of guys in my year level who started this year in that class, so its easy on the eyes. ;)
so all my subjects seem pretty good so far, theres only one or two which i hate. which is a new record for me, I think. the year 7s are like mini midgits, they are so tiny!! so short!! but thats nothing new, last years were as well. but for some reason, this year feels different. seems different. dont ask me why, but it does. but good different, mind you.

but enough about school!! it is the weekend, a saturday night, and i am just about to have tea. so im gonna wipe school from my mind until monday so i will catch you guys later!!

all my love

EJ
